Supporting People and Organisations
Hello and welcome to my website.
Through this website I hope to give you a flavour of me, my experience and my interests.
I am passionate about counselling and psychotherapy.
I have over 20 years’ experience working with people and organisations as a counsellor/psychotherapist, coach and trainer. I also offer mentoring and supervision to individuals and groups.
Born in Birmingham I moved to Yorkshire to go to University and have enjoyed living in Yorkshire since. Prior to training as a counsellor, I have worked in the charitable sector, in local government, in higher education and in retail.
I am a down to earth, practical and patient person.
As a specialist in workplace counselling, I have collaborated with a diverse range of private and public sector organisations over the past two decades, offering services in counselling, coaching, training, and supervision.
I run an independent practice and have done for the last 4 years. I am open to enquiries for counselling, psychotherapy, coaching, supervision, training, workshops and talks.
Counselling, Coaching and Supervision
I work online and in person. At the moment my in person spaces are run from offices just outside York and are limited to Fridays.
My therapeutic approach is relational and integrative, which means I draw from a variety of therapeutic theories and models. My guiding principles are to meet you as you are, to listen, and to draw from my practice and knowledge, interventions that I hope will help you explore and understand yourself; and help to build your resources.
The primary theories that inform my practice include Attachment Theory, Person Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy Models, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis.
I accommodate both short-term and long-term therapeutic engagements, depending on the specific challenges you may be facing. The timeframe for our work is collaboratively established. Sometimes the work can go swiftly, and you may only need a couple of sessions. Other times there may be layers to work through over a longer period of time.
Every counselling experience is unique, created in the trust and relationship between the counsellor and the client.
