Counselling, Coaching, Psychotherapy and Supervision

I work online via ZOOM, by phone and in person. At the moment my in-person spaces are run from offices just outside York and are limited to Fridays.

I provide counselling and psychotherapy for anyone who finds themselves struggling personally or professionally; or wishes to understand themselves differently.

I provide coaching for people wishing to develop or change careers; or those wishing to develop their professional competencies.

I provide supervision for therapists, coaches, trainers, or those who are in either voluntary or paid support giving or caregiving circumstances.

Group Work

I offer three- day Experientials for psychotherapists, counsellors or coaches; or those who are in either voluntary or paid support giving or caregiving circumstances Exploring the Dynamics of Attachment in Adult Life Online Experiential using the McCluskey Model.

I offer groups courses on the Theory of Attachment Based Exploratory Interest Sharing (TABEIS). These range from one off sessions to structured programmes over a series of sessions.

I have been privileged to spend over 10 years learning from and working with Dr Una McCluskey, a true pioneer in the field of Attachment Theory.

During this time, I have been running groups and facilitating the model for individuals and groups. Una and I also wrote about creating a workplace application of the model.

The theory

According to attachment theory, our experiences related to seeking and providing care stem from infancy and significantly influence our expectations and responses in adulthood. This experiential programme provides a structured and facilitated invitation for you to explore and recognise how these patterns manifest in your behaviours and relationships. It provides you with an opportunity to enhance your ability to identify these experiences and, when appropriate, explore new approaches that may enhance your well-being and creativity.

“The dynamics of attachment consist of several goal-corrected systems. These are careseeking, caregiving, sexuality, exploratory interest sharing with peers, the personal system for self-defence, the internal supportive or unsupportive environment and the personally created external supportive environment (home/lifestyle). The theory suggests that these systems work together as a single process to contribute to and maintain maximum wellbeing.” McCluskey, U. 2014.

The three-day experiential, one off or structured programme over a longer period of time, explores those systems in relation to how we are.
